Manchester City play Liverpool and Crystal Palace tackle Cardiff City in the semi finals of the Carling Cup.
It means an npower Championship club in guaranteed a Wembley place in the final at the end of February.
The most eagerly-awaited semi, however, is the clash of the Barclays Premier League giants, the first leg of which will take place at the Etihad Stadium in early January.
