Fulham’s Sascha Reither has been charged by the FA over an alleged stamp on Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj during United’s game at Craven Cottage at the weekend.
Video replays showed the incident, which had been missed by match officials, and the German full back has subsequently been charged with violent conduct.
David Moyes had earlier called for more protection for the young winger who has earned his place in the United side with a string of excellent performances this season.
Speaking before the decision to charge Reither, Moyes said:
“Adnan is going to need a little bit of protection or we are going to find that he is getting kicked up and down.
“I do think he deserves a little bit more than he is getting at this present time.”
