Aguero back for Wembley, but Jovetic set to lose out

February 22, 2014 by Tony Bugby

Sergio Aguero will be back for Manchester City’s Capital One Cup final against Sunderland on Sunday week.

City manager Manuel Pellegrini revealed that the Argentine striker resumed training on Tuesday.

Aguero has missed City’s last five matches through a calf-muscle injury.

While there is joy for Aguero, City are likely to be without another front man at Wembley.

Stevan Jovetic limped out of City’s 1-0 win against Stoke City with a hamstring injury, the severity of which has yet to be assessed.

Jovetic retired only 13 minutes after making his entrance as a substitute for Alvaro Negredo early in the second half.
