Manchester United draw Bayern Munich

Manchester United have drawn reigning holders Bayern Munich in next month’s quarter finals of the Champions League.

The Germans will be returning to Manchester for a second time this season having won at Manchester City in the group stage.

United famously won the Champions League final in 1999 against the same opponents at Barcelona’s Nou Camp, Late goals by Ole Gunnar Solksjaer and Teddy Sheringham won the trophy for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side.

The remaining ties are: Paris St Germain v Chelsea, Real Madrid v Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona v Atletico Madrid.

United will play Bayern at Old Trafford on Tuesday April 1, with the return leg in Munich on Wednesday April 9.

The final of this season’s Champions League will be played at the Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica (The Stadium of Light) in Portugal on Saturday May 24.
