UNITED CELEBRATE FACEBOOK FIRST

Manchester United have hit 50 million followers on Facebook becoming the first sports organisation to reach that landmark.

Launched less than four years ago, United’s Facebook page has become an essential destination for tens of millions of United fans around the globe as the place to get all the latest club news and content, and to engage directly with the club and fellow supporters.

With a truly worldwide fan base, United can call on support from all corners of the planet.

To mark this momentous achievement, the club is embarking on a series of initiatives on its page to thank fans including celebratory videos, legendary images and an inspirational and eye-catching mosaic which fans are being encouraged to sign up to be part of.

United’s Group Managing Director, Richard Arnold, said: “This is a fantastic achievement and one that the club is extremely proud of.

“Our millions of passionate fans around the world help to preserve Manchester United’s status as a global leader and innovator in its field.”
