Oldham Athletic twice surrender lead at Morecambe

July 22, 2014 by Tony Bugby

Oldham Athletic twice surrendered the lead as they were held to a 2-2 draw at League Two club Morecambe in their latest pre-season friendly.

It was another good workout for Latics whose goals came from defender Adam Lockwood and Jonson Clarke-Harris.

Latics took the lead after half an hour when Lockwood scored with a near-post shot from a Liam Kelly corner.

They remained ahead until 11 minutes from time when Mark Hughes headed Morecambe level.

Clarke-Harris quickly put Latics back in front curling in a delightful shot.

They were unable to hold on, though, as Paul Mullin equalised as Jim Bentley’s side battled back for a second time to draw the game.
