Memphis Depay signs for Manchester United as Louis Van Gaal begins rebuilding early

May 7, 2015 by Paul Chan

Manchester United have moved early to secure the signature of Netherlands winger United agree deal to sign Memphis Depay from Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven for a fee of between £25-30m.

Depay worked with United manager Louis Van Gaal most recently during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil after making his international debut on October 15 2013 and will officially join the Reds, subject to a successful medical, when the summer transfer window opens in June.

The 21-year old’s arrival may signal a summer shift towards a 4-3-3 formation, although there have been rumours that youngster Adnan Januzaj could leave Old Trafford either on loan or on a permanent deal as the Belgian has found first team chances limited this season.

Depay also used Twitter to celebrate winning the Dutch title before thinking his club, sponsors and management and finally promising to win trophies with United.
