The draw was made in the Colindale branch of Morrisons in London by John Barnes and Ray Parlour.

Salford City have arguably the plum tie of the competition after drawing Leeds United at home in their first season in the EFL.

A total of 70 EFL Clubs featured in the Round One draw which was regionalised into North and South draws to minimise travel for fans.

Huddersfield Town, relegated from the Premier League last season, will face Lincoln City at home while Cardiff City and Fulham will participate in the second round.

There are juicy ties in the southern section, with AFC Wimbledon facing MK Dons, West Brom hosting Millwall, and QPR welcoming Bristol City.

Holders Manchester City will enter the draw in the third round along with other clubs involved in European competition.

Having already retained the trophy after beating Chelsea in last season’s final, City will be seeking to lift the trophy for a seventh time.

Ties will be played in the week commencing August 12 with two matches to be shown live on Sky Sports.
