PLAYER RATINGS – Manchester City 1, Everton 1

Ederson: 6. Completely beaten by Demarai Gray’s goal.

Rico Lewis: 6. Targetted early on but stood up to it well and did good work in midfield.

John Stones: 6. Poleaxed by Jordan Pickford as he came out to meet a Kevin De Bruyne free kick. Flying header came back off the post from KDB free kick.

Manuel Akanji: 6. Solid defending and some good passes out.

Nathan Ake: 6. Did a lot of good defensive work and covered ground well.

Rodri: 7. Stopped a crucial break from Alex Iwobi which led to the City opening goal. Good passing performance in midfield again but a sloppy pass was intercepted which led to the Everton equaliser.

Kevin De Bruyne: 7. Some good balls into the box including a free kick which only came off the post. Daft yellow card might have been red for a foul on Amadou Onana. Superb run in the second half left Everton players in his wake but he couldn’t craft the winner.

Bernardo Silva: 6. Booked for diving but still a nuisance to Everton when he went forward.

Riyad Mahrez: 7. Mazy run created the opening goal as he varied his usual cut in from the right. Had a late shot saved by Jordan Pickford.

Jack Grealish: 6. Incisive runs down the City left attracted plenty of fouls.

Erling Haaland: 7. Early scare for City after he went down following a first minute reducer by Ben Godfrey. Hit the side netting and opened the scoring with a fine first time finish from Riyadh Mahrez’ square pass. Celebrated a free kick like a goal near the end of the first half but little service in the second half.

Ilkay Gundogan (on for Rico Lewis, 87): No time to mark

Julian Alvarez (on for Bernardo Silva, 87): No time to mark

Phil Foden (on for Jack Grealish, 87): No time to mark
