Belgium finish in third place in the World Cup after comfortable win over England

Belgium scored twice to secure a third place finish at the World Cup but a tired England had already won back the trust and belief of fans back home in a much harder fought battle in this tournament even if they couldn’t match the Belgians for quality in a game they deservedly won.

England heartbreak as Croatia overturn deficit to reach World Cup Final

CROATIA 2, ENGLAND 1 AET (1-1 FT) – Croatia advance to the World Cup Final

England’s 1-0 lead over Croatia was overturned by the experienced campaigners who weathered an early storm to beat Gareth Southgate’s young team. At least it didn’t go to penalties this time.

England book first World Cup semi final since 1990 with comfortable victory over Sweden

Harry Maguire and Dele Alli scored the goals that knocked Sweden out of the World Cup and booked England a first semi final appearance since 1990.

Harry Kane saves England blushes with injury time winner to beat difficult Tunisia in Volgograd

Harry Kane’s injury time winner secured three vital points for England as they kick off their World Cup 2018 campaign in Russia against Tunisia with a win.

Kane’s opening goal was cancelled out by Ferjani Sassi’s penalty on a night when few decisions went their way until the England captain popped up with an injury time winner to break Tunisian hearts as England collected all three points in the opening match of a tournament for the first time since 2006 in Germany.
