Boyata out for six weeks

October 29, 2011 by Paul Chan

Dedryck Boyata has returned to parent club Manchester City for treatment after sustaining an ankle injury during Bolton Wanderers’ Premier League match against Sunderland last week.

The Belgium defender had been on loan at Bolton and under the terms of the loan agreement has reported back to City’s medical team for assessment and treatment.

Speaking on the official Bolton Wanderers website, manager Owen Coyle said: “Dedryck is going to be out for up to six weeks with ankle ligament damage.

“It’s a real shame, first and foremost for Dedryck because he has shown what a top player he is capable of being, and then secondly for the team and the football club.

“Part of the arrangement in the loan contract was that if an injury did occur then he would report back to City and liaise with our club doctor and the medical team here, and that is what will happen.”
