Manchester City strike Sergio Aguero has been added to the FA Cup squad for tomorrow night’s Third Round replay against Blackburn Rovers at the Etihad.
The fit-again Argentine striker may play some part against Rovers after missing the last month with a calf injury sustained in the 6-3 win over Arsenal at the Etihad on December 14.
City manager Manuel Pellegrini felt that the return to action of Aguero was vital to City’s campaign.
He said: “Sergio is working normally with the whole squad and he is on the squad list for tomorrow. He’s a very important player for us.”
Aguero’s return to fitness coincides with the departure of City’s 21 year old Swedish striker John Guidetti to Stoke City on loan for the rest of the season where he will join up with former Manchester City manager Mark Hughes.
Guidetti confirmed the move on Twitter, saying: “Very happy 2 have Joined Stoke City š looking forward 2 the challange and 2 play in the best leuageā¦(sic).”
City will also be missing Yaya Toure and David Silva. Both have small problems but should be fit for Cardiff City’s visit to the Etihad at the weekend.
Toure has been nursing a back problem in recent weeks.
