PLAYER RATINGS – Manchester United 2, Burnley 0

Martin Dubravka: 7. Troubled by Manuel Benson, saved a couple of other Burnley half chances, some eccentric moments though.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka: 7. Didn’t make the most of a break against Ian Maatsen but his acrobatic volleyed cut back fell nicely for Christian Eriksen. Solid game.

Casemiro: 7. Comfortable evening at centre half, volleyed a loose ball off the line after a couple of deflections threatened a random outcome.

Victor Lindelof: 6. Not much to challenge him.

Tyrell Malacia: 6. Concentrated on defensive duties.

Scott McTominay: 7. Created some opportunities going forward. A break saw him lay one on for Anthony Martial but spooned an effort over the bar himself. Won the ball back to set Marcus Rashford on his way to United’s second goal.

Christian Eriksen: 7. Rifled into the roof of the net to open the scoring  after a neat opening to the game. Cruised through the game.

Bruno Fernandes: 7. Pounced on early mistakes. Tried to create openings with risky balls forward and one came off for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Marcus Rashford: 8. Definitely back in form. Good ball into the box early on, but had to battle with Ian Maatsen. Brilliant solo run and goal to put United 2 up – broke free after that but was thwarted by Taylor Harwood-Bellis after switching wings following the introduction of Antony.

Alejandro Garnacho: 6. Early outlet but inexperience and bad footing cost him.

Anthony Martial: 6. Set up Garnacho for an early run on goal and worked well off the ball. Had a shot saved and got a knock later.

Antony (on for Alejandro Garnacho, 58): 6. Eased into the action on the right wing, had a shot saved by Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

Anthony Elanga (on for Anthony Martial, 72): 6. Little to do once he came on.

Luke Shaw (on for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, 72): 6. Warm welcome for the England man.

Fred (on for Marcus Rashford, 85): No time to mark.

Brandon Williams (on for Tyrell Malacia, 85): No time to mark.
