City’s final home game against Brighton saw them establish three Premier League records for the most goals in a season (105), most points (97) and most wins (31).

Manchester City extended their Premier League lead to 17 points after a scoreless draw with a valiant Huddersfield Town side, proving once again that performing below par in the Premier League is out of the question if you need a result.

Town manager David Wagner earned a second draw out of four encounters between their sides in the last two seasons with a well executed game plan that stopped City from getting on the scoresheet after 68 Premier League goals at home in the previous 20 games.

A second half headed goal by Pascal Gross secured Premier League safety for Brighton for another season but the Seagulls needed the intervention of goal line technology to confirm matters against a lacklustre Manchester United who went down to their seventh Premier League defeat of the season.
