SERGIO Aguero reached another goalscoring milestone as Manchester City picked up the first piece of silverware before the 2018/19 Premier League season kicked off.

The Argentine striker became City’s first player to score 200 goals for the club as they beat rivals Chelsea at Wembley in the FA Community Shield.

Manchester United’s dream of a record equalling 13th Emirates FA Cup win were dashed by Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.

The Belgian’s first half penalty was all that separated the teams as Jose Mourinho’s former employers dashed his last chance of silverware.

MAN CITY 1, CHELSEA 0

Another match, another record for all-conquering Manchester City whose victory at home to Chelsea extended their Premier League title procession to an amazing 18 points clear of Liverpool and 19 ahead of Manchester United.

This time it was the highest number of passes since Opta began collating statistics in 2003/04 as they totalled an amazing 902.

City beat unambitious Chelsea, who parked the bus at the Etihad, thanks to a goal from Bernardo Silva 32 seconds into the second half.

Jose Mourinho Post Match Press Conference Man Utd vs Chelsea February 2018

MANCHESTER UNITED 2, CHELSEA 1

Goals by Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard ensured that Manchester United overhauled Willian’s first half opener for Chelsea to reclaim second spot from Liverpool after the Reds overcame a moribund start to finish at a canter against their visitors.

Chelsea had an 85th minute equaliser by Alvaro Morata ruled out for a very close offside decision as the visitors piled people forward but the Reds held on.

Victory for Jose Mourinho meant that Chelsea had failed to win after taking the lead first in a Premier League game for the first time in 22 games but respectful handshakes both before and after the game meant that potential flashpoints were kept away from the pitchside.

Huddersfield Town and Chelsea Lineups Greet Each Other

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 1, CHELSEA 3

Willian scored one and made two other Chelsea goals as Huddersfield Town went 3-0 down within 50 minutes at a rainswept John Smith’s Stadium.

Town were unpicked by two first half goals by Tiemoue Bakayoko and Willian as Chelsea bounced back from weekend disappointment against West Ham with a richly deserved performance against a fatigued looking Huddersfield Town side who were down and out after just 50 minutes when Pedro blasted Willian’s layoff past Jonas Lossl.

Laurent Depoitre’s headed goal in injury time was a scant consolation for a Town side who had been throughly outclassed by Chelsea who were on cruise control by the end, going down to an eighth defeat in their last 11 games.
